Christmas Week

Well Easton's first Christmas has come and gone and I must say it was a busy one. It seemed like the week before Christmas there was only one night where we didn't have a party. It was crazy but fun. I think that Easton was so tired from the week that on Christmas he went down for a nap and woke up three hours later. His mom even joined him! (And yes, I slept for all three hours and enjoyed every minute of it!)

We had a good Christmas this year and really enjoyed Easton even though he had no idea what was going on. It is so much fun to have a little person. We got him all dressed up on Christmas Eve in a little church outfit complete with a tie and vest. He looked like a little angel. Too bad he didn't act like that in church. It was our first experience of having a noisy child. He was on one. He didn't want to be held, he didn't want his bottle...nothing made him happy. Finally we got him to settle down and then he went to sleep which was desperately needed.

This Christmas was a little sad for our family as it was the first one without Grandpa. I was asked to put together a tribute video of Grandpa and Grandma and that was pretty emotional. I think every time I watched it I cried. But I hope eveyone enjoyed it and will be able to watch it and remember what wonderful grandparents we had and how fortunate we were to be able to have them in our lives for as long as we did. (Here is picture of Grandpa and Easton a couple of weeks before he died.)

Well, that is about all that is going on here. Easton and I are just enjoying the week as I have the whole week off a work and I'm enjoying every minute of it!

Wiggle Worm

Easton is done with cuddling. He has started to throw himself off people's laps. I will hold him there for a minute but then he slinks his body down. When I have him in his car seat he will slide his body down till only his head is left in the seat. It's like he has things to do and places to be. I have a feeling he is going to be out of control when he can walk. Into everything and that will be a new adventure.

We had our first injury the other night, well two injuries. The first one happened in his Johnny Jumper at my parent's house. I guess he got a little out of control and hit the door. He had a bump on his head and my mom iced him down. He was good to go and still loves to jump. The second injury occured during bath time. I had him in the sink in his little seat and went to grab his towel which was down at the other end of the counter. All of a sudden, he started screaming. Justin came running up the stairs to see what had happened. Easton had moved the faucet over to hot and it had scalded his arm. I didn't even know he could move the nozzle. He was okay just a little cranky after that. The next day he tried to reach again for the faucet and move it but his mom was onto him!

Getting Started

Today we are starting our family blog. I don't know how good I'll be at it but hopefully it will be a good way to keep everyone update on our lives. Since you all are dying to know what we do on a day-to-day basis.

Right now we are excited for Christmas and being able to spend it with family. The most exciting part is sharing that magic with Easton. Even though he is only six months old, me and Justin have had so much fun going Christmas shopping. We always stop and think, "What did we do without him?". Even though we don't have a moment to ourselves anymore, we could care less. It has been such a blessing to our little family to have Easton in our home. And it is fun for me to be able to be a kid again and be able to get excited about Christmas. Justin teases me because I still believe in Santa Claus but I don't care because I love Christmas!

This week has been fun as we got Easton an early Christmas gift...a johnny jumper. We went to the store the other night and I was walking down the aisle and looking at the jumpers when all of a sudden I see my kid in the display. Justin had put him in there and he was jumping up and down. I hope people didn't think Easton was included in the price. He is out of control in it! At first he didn't get so I started jumping up and down and then he just took off. I think that first night he jumped for 45 minutes straight. He was pretty tired and went right to bed after that.

Everyday he is getting more and more animated, which is fun for us. Even though he is still serious around strangers, he is starting to laugh with us more. He has started to make this weird growling noise at Kira. It is a sound only reserved for her and everytime she walks by he just starts growling. I think they are going to be best friends. His favorite thing to do is play with his mom and his dad. Justin will come home from work and Easton will want to play with him all night long. Justin is great to do that. He loves his little boy.

Anyways that has been the big story at our house this week. Thanks for checking in!
